Now the old man looked up and saw that the bird was circling again.
这时老头儿抬起头来，看见那只老鹰又在打着转儿了。
"He's found fish," he said aloud.
“它找到鱼啦，”他提高嗓子说。
No flying fish broke the surface and there was no scattering of bait fish.
可是没有一条飞鱼冲到水面上来，也没有鱼食散布开去。
But as the old man watched, a small tuna rose in the air, turned and dropped head first into the water.
老头儿正在望着的时候，一条小金枪鱼忽然跃到半空去，一转身头朝下掉进水里。
The tuna shone silver in the sun and after he had dropped back into the water another and another rose and they were jumping in all directions, churning the water and leaping in long jumps after the bait.They were circling it and driving it.
金枪鱼在太阳下映出银白色的光，掉进水里以后别的金枪鱼一个接着一个冒上来，纷纷地跳到四下里去，搅得水花四溅，一跳几丈远地去追鱼食，绕着它打转儿，在后面赶着它。
If they don't travel too fast I will get into them, the old man thought, and he watched the school working the water white and the bird now dropping and dipping into the bait fish that were forced to the surface in their panic.
老头儿想：要不是它们跑得太快，我会捉住它们的。他望着鱼群把海水翻腾得白浪滔天，老鹰现在也扑下来，钻到小鱼群里去，那些小鱼在一阵恐慌中被迫浮到水面上来了。
