Hollywood celebrity Anne Hathaway is starring in the TV series Modern Love. The eight-episode romantic comedy, which is based on true stories from The New York Times column of the same name, explores various forms of love.

Hathaway plays Lexi, a lawyer with bipolar disorder. She would start her day dancing in the supermarket, and then just a few hours later she would turn into a completely different person. She was too depressed to even get out of bed. Lexi struggles to hide her condition from the people in her life because of social pressure.

But eventually she realizes she can’t keep it a secret if she wants to live a happy life. She reveals her condition to a former co-worker, and, in doing so, she finds a true friend, love for herself, the courage to be honest with others and the drive to start being active in her treatment process. “I think if we’re honest with ourselves, we all have to learn that we are worth loving,” the 36-year-old US actress told Entertainment Weekly.
